Visit Giant’s Castle in the spectacular uKhahlamba Drakensberg Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a moderate 3 kilometre hike through this majestic mountain range to the site of a cave adorned with ancient San rock painting, and then enjoy a relaxing lunch.

Return to Durban along the pastoral Midlands Meander route with its stunning scenery, quaint craft and farmer’s markets.


Giant’s Castle
Visit the World Heritage Site of Giant’s Castle in the majestic Drakensberg Mountains. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the enigmatic Bushman paintings in the vicinity.

Leisurely 3km Hike
We set off on foot for a leisurely 3km round hike to the site of the caves to discover this magical legacy of the Bushmen (average level of fitness required), followed by lunch (included).

Return to Durban
Our return to Durban is via the charming Midlands Meander Route with its many craft and farmers markets.
